FWG is a Swiss watch brand founded by the members of a family based in Vaud, Switzerland. The founders have recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the initial mass production of their proposed timepiece collection.
FWG stands for Frederic, William and Gabriel, the siblings who founded this watch brand. Their debut watch collection offers unisex watches with a unique design. Suitable for all wrists, these Swiss Made timepieces will be available in two sizes: 46mm and 39mm.
The collection will have three distinct models: Great Date, Gold Day & Date and Pretty Second. The choice of movements was made according to the wishes of each of the three creators. These mechanical calibres are Swiss Made and customizable.
The FWG Pretty Second model can be distinguished by a star-shaped seconds hand at 6 o’clock. This timepiece is equipped with the ETA 7001 TOP movement. This personalised mechanical movement is decorated with Côtes of Geneva and a rhodium finishing or satin-finishing by highlighting the steels. The movement bridge has the brand name FWG engraved on it.
The FWG Great Date watch is equipped with the automatic ETA 2892 TOP movement. This timepiece displays the date in a round window at 6 o’clock of the dial. The ETA 2892 top rhodium-plated top movement features an oscillating weight decorated with Côtes of Geneva, engraved with FWG.
The FWG Gold Day & Date model houses gold-coated ETA 2836 movement which allows the day of the week and the date to be read with opening windows at 3 o’clock.
The Pretty Second and Great Date models feature titanium cases and the Gold Day & Date model has Brozne case. Available in 39mm and 46mm diameters, the so called barrel shaped watch case is fitted with sapphire crystals on the dial and back sides.
All models are water resistant up to 50 meters. They come with original dial featuring different colors and indexes. The riveted Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 12 hour-markers complement the color of the case. The hands are embedded with luminescent material. With openings on the sides and back, these Swiss made watches also allow the wearer to observe the beauty of the watch’s heart – the movement – from many angles.
FWD watches come with an option of leather or rubber strap, secured with a titanium buckle. Each timepiece will be delivered in a white lacquered wooden box. The brand also offers 2 years of guarantee for its timepieces.
To finance the production of their first models, FWD launched a 30 days crowd-funding campaign on December 2nd, 2020 on the Kickstarter platform. The campaign ends on 01 January 2021. The campaign pledges start at CHF 798/- for the mechanical watches. The brand also offers a Quartz version of its Grand date model, with pledge of CHF 498/-.
