Maurice Lacroix Becomes the Official Timekeeper of Mahindra Racing

Swiss luxury watch brand Maurice Lacroix has been appointed as the Official Timekeeper of Mahindra Racing, a founding team competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the all-electric street racing championship.

The first race of the season, a double-header, will take place on the 16th and 17th of January 2021 in Santiago, Chile’s capital city. While both companies hope for podium glory, they also share a passion for mechanics, an eye for design and a concern for the planet. It is this commonality which provides a strong basis for a new, exciting partnership.

As part of Mahindra & Mahindra, a USD 19.4 billion federation of companies that enables people to rise through innovative mobility solutions, driving rural prosperity, enhancing urban living, nurturing new businesses and fostering communities, headquartered in India with staff in 100 countries, Mahindra Racing competes in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Moreover, the team has competed in every season since the series was inaugurated in 2014 and is a multi-race winning outfit.

Both companies are driven by performance and the pursuit of mechanical perfection. Mechanical precision and optimal design are essential for success.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is the closest and most competitive category in motorsport, with unpredictable and exciting electric racing in the centre of the world’s most iconic cities. It features 14 races across 12 cities. The racing takes place on city street circuits, the very urban landscapes that are close to the heart of Maurice Lacroix.

Mahindra Racing was the first Formula E team to be accredited to the FIA’s Sustainability Programme and holds the highest level of accreditation; it was only the second motorsport team in the world to achieve this. This responsible face of business is yet another virtue that resonates with Maurice Lacroix.

As Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix explained, «It is important to us that we work with companies which share our passions and values. As you can see, Maurice Lacroix and Mahindra Racing are closely aligned. We both share a passion for success and a concern for the planet. We are both dynamic companies with much in-house expertise. We also choose to spend much time in the cities around the globe, engaging with our customers and responding to their desires. I look forward to both companies working together, embarking on this exciting adventure and sharing much success.”

Dilbagh Gill, Team Principal & CEO of Mahindra Racing added, “We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Maurice Lacroix, a brand that is complementary to our team in terms of values and vision. Innovation, sustainability and passion in what we do is what underpins our drive at Mahindra Racing and we look forward to a partner that shares that ethos. We have some very exciting innovations to present to the world in 2021, so watch this space!”
