Singapore based OSO Watch Co. launched their very first collection of timepieces, the Orbit collection on Kickstarter on November 10. This collection offers vintage era inspired hybrid-quartz chronograph watches.
Straying from modernity, the Orbit collection features a tonneau shape, reminiscent of vintage chronograph watches from the early 70’s. What sets it apart, however, is the hybrid movement powered by Seiko VK64. A meca-quartz movement that perfectly pairs the accuracy of quartz with the distinct aesthetics of a mechanical chronograph, a feat that true watch enthusiasts can appreciate.
The symmetry of the dials brings a clean and contemporary look to the watch, accompanied with the distinctive curve lines and a domed sapphire crystal glass to maintain its vintage integrity and durability.
Further, its hour-marker indexes and hands are embedded with the Super-LumiNova® lume for maximum clarity in both daytime and night time.
The case design of this new watch is inspired by that of Astron, the first ever quartz watch introduced by Seiko in 1969. With the modest 40mm case size and an ideal thickness of 12mm, the watch strikes a balance between style and comfort for all wrist sizes.
Despite the thin profile however, the weight of the Orbit still conveys a feeling of quality on the wrist. The brushed surface on the case provides an elegant finish, combining vintage aesthetics with modern technology.
The Orbit is the first collection of vintage-inspired watches from OSO Watch Co. The collection offers three distinct models: Mirage, Abyss and Quasar.
Mirage features a gold toned case, green bezel and deep forest green dial with white counters. Abyss has a polished stainless steel case, black bezel and white dial with black counters. Quasar features a gold toned case with details highlighted with a bespoke mix of dark cerulean and cyan colors.
Built with versatility in mind, the Orbit is an all-rounder and boasts an impressive water resistance of 100m and marine grade 316L stainless steel which makes it a reliable timepiece for everyday wear. Each caseback is engraved with a sophisticated design of our solar system overlooking a mountain.
