The iconic French watch making brand YEMA has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to promote their newly announced Bronze timepieces from the popular Superman collection. This is the second online crowd-funding campaign by the brand.

In 2019, YEMA successfully raised over $1 million funding for its YEMA Superman Heritage Bronze, a reissue of the iconic French diver watch Superman (reference 53.00.16) initially released in 1970. Following this success, the brand now presents two new Superman models: Superman Steel-Bronze edition and Superman Bronze GMT edition.

To promote these new exclusive Superman timepieces, Yema launched a Kickstarter campaign on 15 October 2020. Thanks to the quick response from the watch lovers across the world, the project achieved its funding goal within two minutes of the launch.
The campaign will be active till 01 November 2020 and this project has already secured support from more than 2100 backers. The Kickstarter launch of these two Bronze watches also marks the introduction of two in-house calibres from Yema: YEMA 2000 and YEMA 3000.

YEMA 2000 is a second generation in-house automatic movement and it features a 3-hands layout. This movement is an evolution of MBP 1000 Caliber, which is Yema’s first in-house movement. Introduced in 2011, the MBP 1000 Caliber became one of the most selling automatic movements, with more than 250,000 pieces sold since its induction.

The latest Superman Steel-Bronze will be equipped with the YEMA 2000 movement. Made on the foundation of YEMA 2000, the YEMA 3000 is an automatic movement with GMT function. This movement is the engine of Superman Bronze GMT edition.
Exclusive to the brand, these new two mechanical self-winding movements including the GMT complication of YEMA 3000 are designed, developed, and assembled by the watchmakers in Yema’s Morteau (France) workshops.

These mechanical movements employ bidirectional winding powered by an automatic oscillating weight with ball bearing. They incorporate hacking seconds and quick date setting mechanisms. Equipped with 29 jewels, they have an oscillating frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Power reserve is approximately 42 hours.

Reissue of the iconic French diver watch YEMA Superman reference 53.00.16 of the 1970s, the Superman Steel Bronze edition is available in dark Gray and Green dials. The Superman Bronze GMT watch comes with an additional hand and a 24H GMT rotating bezel allowing the customer to glance on 3 different time zones. The GMT watch is available in black and blue dials.
Each model will be made available with 2 distinct dial colors and case sizes (39mm and 41mm) including 2 straps.

Each of the 2 models is proposed as a limited edition of 1,948 timepieces regardless of the choice of dial color and case size. The limited edition number 1948 indicates YEMA’s year of foundation.
