The Señora Caramelo watch by Cuervo y Sobrinos embraces some of the lively colours capturing the exotic character of Cuban life.

“Caramelo” is the Spanish translation of candy. This model, inspired by a historic Cuervo y Sobrinos watch of the 1950s, is available in a choice of vibrant colourways including, blue, green, orange, red and yellow.

Vintage-style hour and minute hands infuse the dial with a touch of nostalgia. Neat hour markers tastefully augment readability, while a central sweep seconds hand engages with two, rectangular chemins de fer. Cuervo y Sobrinos repeatedly demonstrates an impressive attention to detail, even ensuring the date display is presented in the same shade as the main dial. At the centre of the dial is a series of vertically-aligned stripes, while an applied CyS sits below noon.

The case of the Señora Caramelo encompasses both gentle curves and straight lines which wonderfully engage with the light. The sides of the case are stepped, a characteristic which is obvious when viewed from the front. However, when viewed from the side, the smooth curving profile of the case comes to the fore. The sapphire crystal echoes the shape of the caseband and invites ambient light to flood the dial plane, enhancing legibility.

Housed within the handsome case of the Señora Caramelo is the CYS 5102 calibre. This Swiss automatic movement proves highly convenient, eliminating the need for the wearer to wind the watch, except when it has been left unworn for extended periods. The rotor is embellished with a fan decoration and CyS engraving.

Each version of the Señora Caramelo is supplied on a matching leather strap, paired with a stainless-steel folding buckle. Consistent with the elegant styling of the watch, the strap neatly integrates into the case.
