After successfully launching Lincoln’s River and Omaha Beach Collection, Sangamon Watch Company has recently introduced their newest watch called Mother Road Collection.
Mother Road Collection is inspired by the iconic U.S. Route 66, one of the most famous roads in the world connecting Chicago to Los Angeles. The Mother Road became a symbol of classic Americana throughout the years, paving the way for greater adventure and mobility.
Sangamon crafts custom designed watches that are fashion statements but also are inspired by the history behind the collection. The Mother Road dial was designed around the classic Torq Thrust American Racing Wheel. The chapter ring is inspired by the classic speedometer while the bezel provides the functionality needed to be able to tell time. Sangamon’s S-logo, designed around their local river, pops out as a sharp, applied marker contributing to the different depths of the watch.
The engraved case-back highlights the famous Route 66 road sign in front of a checkered flag. The “Main Street of America” header and the official commissioned dates of 1926-1985 are engraved underneath the sign.
The brushed 316L stainless steel case fits the overall theme of the watch along with the rustic engraved crown, domed sapphire crystal, crown guards, and slightly frosted cutouts on the lugs. The large 44mm dial is a perfect combination with the short lugs giving it an overall lug-to-lug of 53mm. The watch is powered by the reliable Japanese Seiko NH35 Automatic Movement with 24 jewels and a power reserve of 41 hours.
There are 5 color options (Black, Brown, White, Navy and Tie-Dye) designed around the theme, from the Harley Davidson inspired black dial to the extremely limited model (only 20) Tie-Dye dial inspired by famous Cadillac Ranch.
The watch band is a thick and durable genuine leather Rally Racing 3-Hole with a brushed stainless-steel oversized buckle.
Every Sangamon watch comes with a story card to further connect the customer with the history and design of the watch. The Mother Road Collection also includes a keychain with the iconic Route 66 logo, a custom Mother Road Patch and two metal cards for Sangamon Dock Membership and 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
A part of the Spirit Series by Sangamon, the Mother Road Collection is a limited edition of only 310 watches.
