Venturo, the sister brand of Gruppo Gamma, presents their new timepiece Skindiver.
The brand Venturo made its debut with the Field Watch #1, a military styled timepiece. This year, responding to the growing demand of vintage styled dive watches, the brand is launching a rugged yet versatile skin diver model.
The term skindiver refers to a sub-category of slimmer, lighter and dressier divers introduced in the late 1950s. Venturo incorporates key design cues from the vintage skin divers into a modern and refined timepiece.
The Venturo skindiver watch features a solid 40mm diameter and 12mm thick case made from 316L grade stainless steel. It is topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal glass featuring AR coating.
Venturo’s Skindiver is equipped with a 120-click unidirectional diving bezel with markers filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova. This diving watch offers water resistance up to 200 meters. The watch houses a Miyota automatic movement with a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Venturo skindiver houses a matte-black sandwich dial with Arabic numbers for 12, 3, 6 and 9 and long rectangular indices for other hour markers. The dial hosts lancette styled hour and minute hands as well as a long central seconds hand in red. The hour-markers and hands are embedded with Swiss Super-LumiNova for ensuring visibility in all light conditions.
The watch comes with or without date display. In the date version, the dial hosts a small date window at 4.30h. In total, the Venturo Skindiver watch is available in three variants: one date variant and two non-date variants.
Rear side of the Venturo Skindiver watch is secured with a solid stainless steel caseback. The stainless steel bracelet of the watch features brushed surface finish.
An evolution of Gruppo Gamma’s Mk I Divemaster, Venturo’s Skindiver is with marked improvements in refinement, accuracy, luminosity and long-term serviceability. What used to be a chunky diver has evolved into a more versatile tool, with all the characteristics that made skin divers popular.
Gruppo Gamma was created in 2013. In 2019 the Venturo label was created, as a spinoff to Gruppo Gamma, because of the desire to do more and to reach out to different customer profiles. Venturo would focus more on the use of movements from Japan.
