The Formex Essence Space Rock Automatic Chronometer watch features a meteorite dial made of an extraterrestrial rock called Muonionalusta, which impacted in northern Scandinavia about one million years BCE.

The collection, featuring the tested and proven patented Formex features and a COSC certified Swiss Made Automatic movement, is limited to each 50 pieces.

To make the dial, special machining and treatment is required to reveal the distinctive characteristic of this iron meteorite. The beautiful equilateral triangles that create the Widmanstätten pattern is a result of very slow cooling over millions of years, whereas the crystalline structure of the minerals within the core of the asteroid changes.
The final product is a disc of 30.7mm in diameter and 0.65 mm thickness. Since the textures are organic and cannot be artificially reproduced, each single dial is a completely unique piece.

The Formex Essence Space Rock is available in the Essence stainless steel case or the carbon fiber composite case with ceramic bezel and crown. Each timepiece houses a Chronometer grade, COSC certified Automatic Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 (Steel version) or the identical STP1-11 (Carbon version) movement.

Both versions feature the patented Case Suspension System and a folding clasp made of carbon fiber, with a unique fine-adjustment system that perfectly adapts to the wrist’s ever changing size due to heat and humidity.
The sapphire crystal case back affords the view of the self-winding movement beating inside this watch.

The suggested retail price of this Formex watch is 1’450.00 USD for the steel version and 1’980.00 USD for the carbon fiber version.
