Paying tribute to the first Superman timepiece created in 1963, French watch brand YEMA presents the new Superman Heritage 63 diving watch.
In 1963, the first Superman was born. The Superman Heritage 63 is a re-edition of this legendary and innovative Superman watch. The new Superman Heritage 63 diving watch is offering a limited edition of 1000 pieces both in 39mm and 41mm.
The YEMA Superman 63 was designed and thoroughly tested with the support and input of Jason Washington, a highly skilled scuba diving specialist.
Jason Washington is a co-owner of Cayman Islands based Ambassador Divers, which offers Grand Cayman Scuba Diving services with their highly professional diving team. A 2017 International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame honoree, Jason is a professional scuba diver and underwater photographer featured in many print publications including the iconic National Geographic.
Jason is an iconic figure in the Cayman Islands underwater community, he’s at the origin of several projects which aim at protecting the delicate marine life found in the waters of the Cayman Islands and promoting sustainable tourism.
Introduced in 1963, the Superman watch sets itself apart with its unique design, its famous bezel-lock and at the same time becomes the first watch of YEMA’s most appealing collection.
In tribute to the trendsetter model of its collection, the Superman Heritage 63 retakes the essential and professional codes of that time. Water resistant up to 300m, and equipped with its iconic bezel-lock mechanism, the Superman Heritage 63 has the same “Skin Diver” hands as the original model.
To differentiate this new Heritage timepiece, this limited edition has the iconic “Shovel” seconds hand of YEMA’s iconic divers watches as well as a sapphire bezel to reproduce the shiny effect that the Bakelite of that time used to offer.
Rear side of the watch is secured with a stainless-steel screw-in caseback, which is embossed with YEMA’s historic crest. The “Skin Diver” inscription on the case back is a tribute to YEMA’s first dive watches from the 1950’s which inspired the creation of the Superman 1963 dial. Each of the two diameter (39mm or 41mm) variants features a limited edition number from 0001 to 1000 on the case-back.
The YEMA Superman 63 watch is fitted with brushed stainless steel bracelet featuring secure-lock system and diver’s extension. The watch is also available with black vintage leather strap or black tropic strap.
