The new YEMA FLYGRAF PILOT pays tribute to the iconic French watch brand’s horological expertise and tradition in the manufacturing of aviator watches.
The aviation world has been a great source of inspiration for YEMA since its creation in 1948, especially for its iconic FLYGRAF collection. Since 1982, it has been a partner of the CNES (French National Center for Space studies). In 2020, the brand once again entered into an official partnership with the French Air Force.
YEMA has now partnered with its new ambassador Samy Mason, a talented professional aerobatic pilot from California to introduce the Flygraf Pilot watch. In collaboration with Samy Mason, YEMA has created two Flygraf models: the Flygraf M1 and M2, designed for all enthusiasts of the aviation world.
The Flygraf Pilot was first designed for today’s flight crew and therefore aims to be efficient and reliable. The new Flygraf sports an ultra-readable and refined dial, inspired by military aviation watches from the 1960s. Water resistant to 300m, this timepiece has been designed to accompany the pilots in all circumstances.
The Flygraf Pilot is equipped with the in-house movement MBP1000 and is available in black dial (M1) and gray dial (M2).
The Flygraf Pilot features a 39mm diameter stainless steel case featuring a vertical brushed stainless steel bezel and sapphire crystal front glass. The case middle features an integrated crown protection system at 3h. The crown at 3h has fluted sides for better grip and the brand logo on the top.
The dial also features the vertical brush pattern complementing the finishing of the bezel. The two layer dial features numerals 1 to 12 on the outer dial ring and 1 to 24 on the inner dial. This dial arrangement allows easier calculation of the corresponding time according to the 24-hour pattern used by pilots.
To increase the visibility in the dark, all the three hands (hour, minute, seconds), hour markers on the 12h dial and dots on the 24h dial are embedded with SuperLuminova BGW9, which emits a blue-green luminescence.
On the rear side, the watch features an engraved screw-in case-back in stainless steel. The Flygraf Pilot watch is fitted with a black Canvas band or black vintage leather strap.
