Detroit Mint is a small watch brand based in the United States. Dave Diegel is the owner and lead designer of the brand. The watch designs are done by a few local designers in Detroit.
Detroit Mint sources the parts and components required for watchmaking from all over the world. The watchbands come from Florida, California, China, Japan, and a seat belt factory in Scandinavia doing the NATOS. The cases all pretty much come from Hong Kong. Some might be from mainland China sources but they are finished and inspected at one of three shops in Hong Kong.

The movements are either Swiss Quartz, Japanese Quartz (Citizen Chronographs), or Japanese (SII) Automatics. Some notable creations from the brand are Caretta Turtle Automatic Diver, “Mach” Bullhead Quartz Chronograph, Classical Swiss Quartz Dress Watch, Grand Touring Automatic watch and Phantom 44 mm Pilot Automatic World Timer Watch.

All final assembly, customization to order, final inspection, packaging, shipping, and service is done by Dave Diegel himself.

The idea of Detroit Mint is to make high quality and unique timepieces with some vintage flare that is updated with modern state of the art materials. Then sell these for a price that most regular people could afford as an everyday watch.
