Wempe Glashütte I/SA Iron Walker Collection

Wempe Glashütte I/SA has announced the launch of “Iron Walker” a new wristwatch collection with integrated stainless-steel bracelets.

This is the third watch line launched by the 142-year-old family-owned company since the introduction of the Wempe Glashütte I/SA brand in 2006. Timeless elegance and sporty functionality characterize the line’s design aesthetic, which underscores the wearer’s personality: self-confident in business, stylishly self-assured in leisure, and tenacious in sports.

The Iron Walker’s conception began ten years ago, when Kim-Eva Wempe and Bernhard Stoll, CEO Watch Division, patented its name.

The successful product range of the independent watch brand Wempe Glashütte I/SA comprises the watches from Wempe Chronometerwerke with in-house manufacture calibers; the Wempe Zeitmeister line, which offers mechanical starter models; and now a third line, the Iron Walker.

The new line’s strength of character is emphasized by the design of the 316L stainless-steel case, whose architecture features angular as well as rounded flank profiles and a multifaceted surface with matte as well as polished facets.

The integrated metal bracelet suits this design to a T: The three rows of links act as a robust and flexible backbone and are tapered in order to ensure that the watch fits snugly around the wearer’s wrist.

The Iron Walker line with integrated stainless-steel bracelets offers four different men’s models: a chronograph, a diver’s watch, and two flat dress watches. When all the design variants are taken into account, a total of sixteen new models with self-winding or quartz movements are available.

The Iron Walker line offers women’s watch models with self-winding or quartz movements and three different dial colors. Here too, the stainless-steel bracelet is integrated into the design and ensures an optimal fit.

Iron Walker watches are powered by Swiss self-winding calibers or quartz movements of proven quality. To ensure that Wempe standards are met, the movements are assembled in the company’s own workshop in Glashütte, Saxony, and optimized with a fine adjustment and are precisely timed to undergo chronometer certification.

Watches that pass the German chronometric testing process must be capable of being set to the second. The caliber may not be tested separately but only after it has been integrated into the case. Only if the watch has an average rate deviation of two seconds per day or less can it pass the German test in accordance with the ISO 3159 standard and thus be called a chronometer.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph

The Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph is a powerful combination of functionality, chronometric precision, and chronograph equipment. The brand is presently offering two stainless-steel models with an integrated metal bracelet and several different dial colors: steel blue or black-silver for a reverse panda effect.

The striking case with a diameter of 42 millimeters lies comfortably on the wrist. The various functions of the watch are clearly distributed, with a framed date display, a tachymeter scale, and three totalizers in a symmetrical arrangement: The subsidiary seconds dial is located at 9 o’clock, the 30-minute counter across from it at 3 o’clock, and the hour counter at 6 o’clock.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph with blue dial

The stop second is easily readable because it is centrally located with a long hand that points to the tachymeter scale, which can be used to calculate average speeds. The chronograph is controlled with two rectangular pushbuttons located directly next to the side protectors of the crown.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph with integrated steel bracelet

Another solid construction element is the firmly integrated three-row stainless steel bracelet with a folding safety clasp.

The clear allocation of functions in the self-winding Iron Walker Chronograph not only guarantees precise readability but also gives the watch a balanced overall design. In the background is either a dial with a sunray decoration in steel blue or a contrasting dial in a reverse panda style with a matte black background and silver totalizers. For brilliant insights even in the dark, the hour and minute hands, as well as the raised steel hour markers, are marked with luminous mass.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph with black dial

A certified chronometer, the Iron Walker Automatic Chronograph is powered by a reliable self-winding Swiss chronograph caliber that performs nonstop for 48 hours.

In order to meet Wempe’s standards, the caliber is optimized, fitted, and finely adjusted in the company’s own workshops in Glashütte. The adjustment is so precise that the caliber passes the stringent German chronometric testing with a maximum average rate variation of only two seconds per day when mounted in the case.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic & Quartz Watches for Men

Slim athletic contours, self-assured style, flexible contexts — the Iron Walker Automatic Men’s Watch and the Iron Walker Quartz Men’s Watch are classic time managers from the new line of stainless-steel watches with an integrated metal bracelet.

Whether worn for business, formal occasions or as part of a casual leisure outfit, the Iron Walker Automatic Men’s Watch and the Iron Walker Quartz Men’s Watch are certified chronometers that are suitable for every situation in life.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Men’s Watch with blue dial

Their balanced overall appearance is based on the proportions of the golden ratio, with the hour, minute, and second display positioned at the center. However, they offer far more than traditional three-hand watch models.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Men’s Watch with black dial

The date display, which is the most important feature of a business watch, is located at 3 o’clock and has a polished steel frame. This loving attention to detail can also be seen in the raised steel hour markers and the striking baton hour and minute hands, which are marked with white luminescent paint.

Wempe Iron Walker Quartz Men’s Watch with blue dial

The minute markers, which are similar, are arrayed on an inclined ring that frames the dial. All of these accents, no matter how delicate, contribute to the watches’ optimal readability. Depending on the wearer’s taste, three versions are available, with a white, black or blue dial.

Wempe Iron Walker Automatic Men’s Watch case-back

The stainless steel case has been scaled down and is unusually flat, with a 40 millimeters diameter and a thickness of 9.75 millimeters. As a result, the models are very comfortable to wear and slide easily under a shirt cuff.

They are powered either by a self-winding movement with a power reserve of 42 hours or a quartz caliber with a constant running time of 41 months. And their practicality, timeless elegance, and strong character will outlast every fashion trend.
