IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic 42mm (Ref. IW500713 – Boutique Edition in 18-carat 5N gold case with blue dial and Ref. IW500714 – in Stainless steel case with burgundy dial)

IWC Schaffhausen is launching two new versions of the classic Portugieser Automatic with diameters of 42 millimetres, one of them featuring the maritime design cues of the Boutique Editions.

The classic Portugieser Automatic (Ref. 5007) features a 42-millimetre case. The small seconds and the power reserve display are located directly opposite each other at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. Thanks to this striking design, the watch long ago achieved the status of a modern classic.

One new model is available featuring the design cues of the Boutique Editions, inspired by sailing and the maritime world and with an 18-carat 5N gold case and blue dial. A second model is available in stainless steel with a striking burgundy dial.

Both watches are powered by the IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre, which features the IWC specific Pellaton winding system using components of virtually wear-free zirconium oxide ceramic.

Thanks to its slightly larger dimensions, the movement has room for two barrels that build up a power reserve of seven days. In this model too, the decorated movement is visible through a transparent sapphire glass back.
