The legendary ZEPPELIN mechanical chronographs, which have been successful for years, are accompanied by the new ZEPPELIN “Atlantic” model series. The new ZEPPELIN Atlantic pays homage to the Atlantic crossings carried out with the famous airships constructed by Graf Zeppelin in the 1930s.
ZEPPELIN’s new Atlantic range has made these high-end features accessible to a wide range of buyers, while retaining all other features such as excellent readability and a robust polished stainless steel case.
The airships constructed by Graf Zeppelin soon became famous for their long-distance capability. In the 1930s, a regular transatlantic airship service was established between Europe and North and South America.
The Zeppelin moves almost silently in the sky and offers an overwhelming view of the beauty of the earth. The luxurious airship, with its spacious interior such as the dining room, reading room, lounges and bedrooms, was the most comfortable and elegant form of travel at that time. This refined and classic elegance is reflected in the new ZEPPELIN Atlantic range.
The enthusiasm for the technical masterpiece of an Atlantic crossing in one of the elegant and comfortable equipped airships was the inspiration for the new model ZEPPELIN Atlantic.
The ZEPPELIN Altlantic Chronograph stands out as the top model of the new model series. Even at first glance, the clear design with only two totalizers attracts attention. The small second is positioned at 3 o’clock and the counter for the stop minutes at 9 o’clock. The precisely designed dial with the symmetrical arrangement of the totalizers gives the watch its classic appearance. The applied polished three-dimensional indices emphasize the high quality standards of the new model.
Just as revolutionary as the Zeppelins of bygone days is the ZEPPELIN Atlantic Chronograph model today: ZEPPELIN is the first mid-range manufacturer to use the new SII NE86 caliber; a thoroughbred, fully integrated chronograph caliber with ratchet wheel control and vertical clutch.
A fully integrated chronograph movement with ratchet wheel control and vertical clutch is usually only found in Haute Horlogérie watches. ZEPPELIN is one of the very few manufacturers that can show this outstanding feature in a lower middle class watch.
This makes ZEPPELIN member of a small and exclusive group of manufacturers using the NE86 caliber of Japanese specialist SEIKO. ZEPPELIN is also one of the first manufacturers of high quality watches to come onto the market with this technically sophisticated caliber.
But not only the high-precision control gear of the NE86 is an absolute highlight, the use of a vertical clutch is a unique feature in this class of watches, which establishes the transfer of power when connecting the stop mechanism and ensures a smooth start.
For friends of high-quality mechanics, who prefer a power reserve display instead of the stop function of a chronograph, ZEPPELIN also has a fitting model available. The new, flat-fitting Miyota / Citizen 9133 automatic caliber with a power reserve indicator positioned between 9 and 10 o’clock, not only creates functional added value, but also an unusual aesthetic.
The case is made of high quality, polished stainless steel 316L in a contemporary diameter of 43mm. Case bases with inserted mineral glass opens the view to the movement.
The dials are available in a total of four contemporary colors. The blue and black dials are electroplated in a complex process to achieve a particularly fine and velvety grain. As a special feature, a dial fully coated with Superluminova is also available. In the dark, the dial lights up in cool blue, a technical and aesthetic treat. The handmade high quality leather bracelets guarantee highest comfort.
All watches from ZEPPELIN are manufactured and tested in Germany by experienced master watchmakers and carry the quality seal “Made in Germany”.
