The company POINTtec from Ismaning near Munich is not only one of the largest watch manufacturers in Germany, but also undoubtedly one of the most innovative suppliers of high quality watches at affordable prices. The organically grown family business celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017 and launched an extravagant anniversary model under the name “IRON ANNIE”.
A reminiscence of a Junkers JU52 which was nicknamed “IRON ANNIE” by its American owner, which now holds the license plate D-AQUI, and today is doing sightseeing flights for Deutsche Lufthansa. This limited special edition was received enthusiastically by the markets and so POINTtec decided to establish IRON ANNIE as an independent brand.
The new collection IRON ANNIE Classic recalls the style of the bustling 60s. IRON ANNIE’s take on the time are watches in warm colors, equipped with domed dials and glasses as well as round and smooth-shaped cases – inspired by the elegance of the 60s. The sharp-cut, thin lugs and the long hands form the stylistic counterpoint.
The new IRON ANNIE Classic collection includes several models, from low-priced entry-level models with precise quartz movement to the sophisticated mechanical version, equipped with the tried-and tested ETA 2824 automatic caliber.
With the design and execution of the unusual, curved dial IRON ANNIE sets the highest quality standards. All dial variants, whether in beige, blue or black are covered with fine line indices and give the new IRON ANNIE Classic collection its elegant face. The needle-shaped, tapered, luminous hands underline the filigree appearance.
For the model with small second at 6 o’clock, a high-quality quartz movement from ETA is used, for lovers of high-quality mechanical watches IRON ANNIE offers the proven caliber ETA 2824 with automatic winding in the classic 3-hands version and date window at 3 o’clock. The water-resistant housing is rated at 3 atm and consists of high quality stainless steel 316L. The diameter is contemporary 41 mm.
The strongly curved glass, also in the style of the 1960s, is made of durable K1 safety glass. A high quality bracelet made of supple, hand-finished leather underlines the high standards of the IRON ANNIE Classic. All watches from IRON ANNIE are manufactured and tested in Germany by experienced master watchmakers and bear the seal of quality “Made in Germany”.
The IRON ANNIE Classic is available as a quartz model, ref. 5938 at a price of EUR 249.- and as a version with mechanical movement and automatic winding as ref. 5958 at a price of EUR 499.-
