With water-resistance to 50 bar (500 m) and certified chronometer precision, Carl F. Bucherer’s latest diver’s watch is ready for any adventure – above or underwater, during outdoor action, and in everyday life. The successful Black Manta Special Edition inspired the striking design of the new Patravi ScubaTec Black, which will be available starting in April 2020.
The new Patravi ScubaTec Black features impressive resilience, excellent technology, and outstanding functionality. Its ultra-light 44.6 mm titanium case has a matte black DLC coating, as does the unidirectional rotating bezel. The bezel is also equipped with scratch-resistant ceramic, a 60-minute scale, and luminous markers. The black, finely structured dial is adorned with black indices with an ample coating of SuperLumiNova.
Their luminescent blue gives the wearer the time of day even in the dark. The hour, minute, and second hands also have this tried-and-true luminous coating. They are accompanied by a date window at 3 o’clock.
The new version’s striking design is not the only thing inspired by the Black Manta Special Edition. This model also matches the Special Edition’s sustainability in every way. The ScubaTec Black Manta Special Edition is dedicated to protecting the oceans and to the brand’s partnership with the Manta Trust charitable organization.
The watchmaker has been cooperating with the Manta Trust for many years to help conserve manta rays and their habitats. The idea of sustainability, which Carl F. Bucherer actively supports, is also expressed in the new version. A black rubber strap with fabric made of 100% recycled plastic bottles removed from the ocean rounds out the sporty, elegant look. A second version of this model with a striking black rubber strap is also available.
With its screw-down crown and automatic helium release valve, it is ideal for underwater adventures – as evidenced by its water-resistance to 50 bar (500 m).
It is reliably powered by the CFB 1950.1 caliber automatic movement with a power reserve of 38 hours. Its extraordinary precision has been officially confirmed by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) independent Swiss chronometer testing institute. Each watch is accompanied by an individual COSC certificate.
In addition to the 2019 Black Manta Special Edition, the Patravi ScubaTec diving watch collection features other men’s models in blue or black as well as a range of colorful timepieces for women.
