Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic 1970 Re-Edition

The watch brand Alsta traces its origins to 1946. Alsta was one of the victims of the quartz crisis of the early/mid-70s and finally succumbed in 1982. It was revived in 2016 and since then has designed and released four models including the new Nautoscaph Superautomatic.

In 2017, Alsta Watch Co. presented the resurrected brand’s first wristwatch for over 40 years. The re-launch model, the Nautoscaph II is inspired by the Nautoscaph dive watch worn by Richard Dreyfuss as Matt Hooper in the classic movie, Jaws. In 2018, the brand released next two timepieces; the Nautoscaph III and the Surf n Ski.

The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic was first released in 1970 and was immortalised by the 1975 blockbuster movie ‘JAWS’. In 2019, Alsta released a faithful re-edition of the watch worn by Oceanographer Matt Hooper, played by Richard Dreyfuss, in the movie.

The Nautoscaph Superautomatic is limited to 1975 pieces worldwide. It is manufactured and assembled entirely in Switzerland except for the movement which is by Seiko of Japan.
