The new Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon features a sumptuous anthracite dial with a slate-inspired pattern. The warm shades of the rose gold PVD treatment adorning the indexes and hands draw a superb contrast with the sleek design of its round polished-steel case. A timepiece with a classic and timeless look, the Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon comes equipped with a COSC-certified chronometer movement featuring a silicon balance-spring.
In addition to its anti-magnetic properties, this component offers greater long-term accuracy than a standard balance-spring and better shock-resistance. The Caliber 80 provides this model with exceptional autonomy: up to 80 hours of power reserve. The Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon perfectly demonstrates Mido’s expertise in designing timepieces that combine innovation with watchmaking tradition.
The Baroque-influenced neoclassical style of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II expresses all the sophistication inherent to the Italian architectural tradition. It was from these refined, rounded forms that Mido drew its inspiration for the Baroncelli. The subtle references to this prestigious building and its harmonious curves bestow both a rare sense of elegance and a resolutely timeless style on this iconic collection, which marked its 40th anniversary in 2016.
The new Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon embodies the spirit that Mido has instilled in its timepieces since the very beginning. This unique expertise offers the perfect combination of classic watchmaking codes and cutting-edge technology.
The sleek design of its inimitable round polished-steel case, measuring 40 mm in diameter, draws a stunning contrast with its anthracite dial, which features a slate-inspired pattern and is enhanced by the warm colours of the rose gold PVD treatment adorning the indexes and hands. This superb dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides.
All extremely delicate, the faceted indexes and the double-sided hour and minute hands – one side sandblasted, the other diamond-cut – highlight the exceptional elegance of this model with its subtle play on materials. The seconds hand is diamond-cut and the date, meanwhile, is displayed in an aperture at 3 o’clock.
Beneath its classic and timeless exterior, the Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon houses an extraordinarily precise COSC-certified automatic chronometer movement. The Caliber 80 – Mido’s flagship movement – is equipped with a silicon balance-spring, an essential component in luxury watchmaking. As well as offering increased resistance to magnetism and shocks, this balance-spring offers greater long-term accuracy than a standard balance-spring. The Caliber 80 also provides this model with exceptional autonomy: up to 80 hours of power reserve.
Protected by a sapphire crystal, which guarantees perfect visibility, the Baroncelli Chronometer Silicon’s transparent case back allows all those who love beautiful watchmaking to admire this cutting-edge chronometer movement, finely decorated with blued screws and an oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo.
Water-resistant up to a pressure of 3 bars (30 m/100 ft), the Barconcelli Chronometer Silicon is fitted with an elegant strap in brown semi-matt crocodile-look genuine cow leather, with a folding clasp in stainless steel. Recommended retail price (incl. VAT) is CHF 1,130.00.
