Independent British watch brand The Camden Watch Company, known for their designs based on elements of Victorian Britain, particularly Camden and its strong railway heritage and iconic ‘Camden Lock’ bridge., is releasing a timepiece based on another historical element of the area – punk rock.
In 1976, American band The Ramones played at Camden Town’s Roundhouse venue and the next night at Dingwalls, another Camden iconic venue. It was on that night at Dingwalls, band members from a then unknown Sex Pistols and members of a just formed The Clash along with band members of The Ramones got into a brawl with The Stranglers. And many say this is when the British punk rock movement was born.
Available from 9th December 2019, The Camden Watch Company Punk Rock takes elements from their No. 29 watch.
It features a 43mm black ion-plated case surrounding the black dial with pops of neon colours throughout particularly around the Roman numeral hour markers inspired by The Sex Pistols album cover Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols. It has a seconds sub-dial featuring a neon orange hand.
The timepiece features a black leather strap and will retail for £150 (including free worldwide shipping).
