With this new model, Longines re-interprets a military watch produced in 1938 and conserved as part of the Swiss brand’s historical collection. Numbered and limited to 1938 pieces, the Longines Heritage Military 1938 watch houses a hand-wound mechanical movement.

The shape of the 43 mm diameter stainless steel case is typical of the 1930s. Resolutely understated, the timepiece reveals other attractive details reminiscent of the original model, such as the beveled bezel and its ribbed “sea urchin”-shaped crown which guarantees easy adjustment.

Under its domed anti-reflection sapphire crystal, The Longines Heritage Military 1938 features a streamlined, perfectly easy-to-read matte black dial.

The “baton”-style hour and minute hands and eleven cream-colored Arabic numerals coated with Super-LumiNova® enable excellent visibility in any condition, an essential quality for a military watch. The elegant dial and small seconds at 6 o’clock are framed by an elegant “railway-track” decoration that characteristic of the period.

The Longines Heritage Military 1938 is available with a patinated charcoal grey leather strap and a cognac-colored NATO-style leather strap, easily interchanged using a tool included in its packaging. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters.

Beating inside at the rate of 21’600 vibrations per hour, the Longines Calibre L507.2 (base ETA 6498/2) hand-wound mechanical movement offers an approximate power reserve of 53 hours.
