AEROWATCH Renaissance Grande Mécanique Aviateur (Ref. A 55981 AA01)

When AEROWATCH was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1910, the choice of an English name already expressed the company’s determination to be open-minded and progressive. It was a good choice, because aviation was destined to be the key for accessing promising markets around the world.

As a reminiscence of its early days, the company is now enriching its Renaissance collection with the Grande Mécanique Aviateur as the quintessential pilot’s watch.

The Grande Mécanique Aviateur comes in a 43-mm satin-finished stainless steel case that makes a strong statement on the wrist. To emphasize the affinity of the timepiece with cockpit instruments, its matte black dial is accentuated with luminescent hands and numerals, making the watch eminently legible even in total darkness. The Grande Mécanique Aviateur features a mechanical manually wound movement that gives it a nostalgic touch and at the same time underscores its Swiss watchmaking heritage.

In selecting a brown calfskin strap, Aerowatch took inspiration from the olden days when pilots typically wore their watches over the sleeves of their flight deck overalls.

Even though it pays tribute to historic aviator’s watches, the new Grande Mécanique Aviateur fulfills the expectations of watch aficionados with regard to visual aesthetics and wearing comfort. The new creation is available exclusively at AEROWATCH points of sale.
