Uhrenfabrik Junghans will br sponsor for timing at the 52nd FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld, Austria and the 48th FIL Luge World Cup in Winterberg, Germany.

Junghans will be in attendance from the 19th February 2019 to the 3rd March 2019 to measure the times of the top 700 athletes from 60 nations in ski jumping, cross-country skiing and in the Nordic combination.  As Official Timing Partner, Junghans will be showcased to the spectators in Seefeld, as well as on television with the broadcasting of all contests. Additionally, the Schramberg company will be awarding their own Junghans Award for the ski-jumping disciplines.

In recognition of the world championships, Junghans will unveil a limited, special sporty edition: the WM-Edition 1972 Chronoscope Quartz. Themed around the 52nd World Championships of the FIS, the official WM-Edition of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 is limited to precisely 52 units.

The colour scheme of the watch follows the logo of the winter sport event and exhibits the colours red, light blue and white in the strap and the dial. The emblem of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is engraved on the back of the case as an enduring memory.

A special distinction is also being reserved by Junghans for the ski-jumpers: the Junghans Award. The athletes who achieve the overall greatest distance in their first and second individual jumps are thus distinguished in the games. A particular feature of this contest is that the distance of the jump solely decides the winner – without any adjudication of the judges and deduction of points as a result of favourable upwinds. The award will be presented immediately following conclusion of the podium ceremony. Junghans will present one of the limited edition watches as a prize to the winners.
