REC Watches P-51 RTR Limited Edition
Introduced in 2018, the P-51 RTR by REC Watches is a bold, different and utterly unique watch made in collaboration with World Champion drift racer Vaughn Gittin Jr. from his Mustang RTR.
A self-taught American professional drift racer, ‘Professional Fun-Haver’ and Mustang madman Vaughn Gittin Jr. is one the most iconic personalities in professional drifting. As the creator of the RTR Vehicles including Mustang RTR, Vaughn is credited as being the trailblazer to bring American muscle cars into an import dominated sport. Today, Vaughn is one of the most successful drifters on the planet, boasting no less than three world drifting championship titles, and was awarded the Ace Driver of the Decade title in 2013 when he won more tandem battle victories than any other driver in Formula Drift.
Born and bred from traditional Japanese drift culture and influenced by European sports car styles, the Mustang RTR brand was built from the ground up to represent a modern, adaptive and enticing next generation of Mustang vehicles. However, The P-51 RTR Collection is not just built from any RTR vehicle, but rather Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s latest Formula Drift championship car, the Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D.
Featuring a recycled carbon fiber dial with evident wear and tear, a visually unique forged carbon/aluminum bezel, and numerous not-so-subtle design references, the P-51 RTR embeds the very DNA of both the 2X 900-BHP RTR Drift Monster and its driver.
Limited to 350 pieces, the P-51 RTR watch has a 44m diameter stainless steel case. Its dial is made from recycled RTR chassis carbon fiber, with visible wear and tear.
The double layer calf-leather strap features VGJ’s racing number 25 stitched in Roman numerals. The bezel is made from forged RTR carbon fiber and steering shaft aluminum.
The P-51 RTR watch houses a Miyota 9130 automatic movement and displays hour, minute, seconds, date and power reserve.
