The Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 USA Limited Edition pays tribute to the Swiss watch brand’s rich heritage and longstanding ties to the world of aviation.
This re-edition of a classic 1935 American Army model is limited to 100 numbered pieces. Dedicated solely to the United States, this new watch answers American collectors’ demonstrated interest in limited edition timepieces endowed with authentic heritage.
The 44 mm stainless steel case houses a self-winding L788 calibre, a column-wheel movement developed exclusively for Longines. The various chronograph functions – stop, start, and reset – can all be operated by pressing the single push-piece set in the fluted crown.
The exclusive grained dial, which features a black graduated shading, is angled at 40°to the right and displays 10 large honey-coloured Arabic numerals that stand in high contrast to the face, a clever original detail that was designed to allow pilots to easily read the time without having to release the plane’s control yoke.
A black distressed leather strap harmoniously enhances the overall piece, while a commemorative engraving on the case back confirms each watch’s unique identity.
