Buler is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1945 by Charles and Albert Buhler. During the initial years, it had been operating in a small atelier at the Oelestrasse.

In 1954, Walter Rufli took over the management of the firm. In 1956 Buler moved into a new and modern factory situated at the foot of the Jura-mountains at the Solothurnstrasse in Lengnau. The company soon became one of the leading producers of pin-lever mechanical watches.

In 1960, due to growing demand for Buler watches, the production capacity of the company was increased by adding a new wing. During the 1970s quartz crisis, the company started to build up their image as a streamlined brand in the middle and upper price range.

In 1971, Buler launched the CENTURY automatic watch, an original design with hours and minutes, displayed by disks.

In 1990, the company was acquired by a private entrepreneur. The new management re-established the balance between the well-defined concept, the company had, and the brand’s worldwide reputation, launching some new and very successful models such as the Ocean Conqueror, Sea Legend… etc. A renewed determination of the new management combined with attractive new Buler collections caught the interest of emerging new markets such as the Far East.

In 2001, Buler became the sponsor of the Hong Kong Ranger Football Club. In 2003, the brand was appointed as the official sponsor of the Buler Squash Challenge. During that period, Buler developed several new models with special fascinating elements, such as the Buccaneer collection, which features a Day Date function with a fabulous rectangular shaped case.

Introduced in 2004, the Alpha Performance collection fuses sporty and elegant elements and integrates a rubber strap into the design of the timepieces. In 2005, Buler sponsored one of the cars taking part in the “4η ANABAΣH KYMHΣ” car race competition in Greece.

In 2006, Buler S-Elite collection, with a TV screen-shaped case, was launched in order to promote a modern sport watch with a masculine feel.

In 2008, Buler launched the Adventurer, a new chronograph featuring IP Black Plating on the Stainless Steel case and bracelet. Launched in 2009, the Sky Hero chronograph extended “the black is elegant” concept with a distinctive rubber strap and IP Black-Plated Stainless Steel case.

In 2010, celebrating the passion for alpine adventure, the brand developed the Mountain Quest sports watch. In 2011, Buler launched Twinkle, a new elegant lady watch adorned with Swarovski crystals. Introduced in 2013, the Sea Hunter watch features a fly-back day and a big date function.

Today, Buler is a part of Free Town Watch Products Ltd. based in Hong Kong.

The flagship collections from the brand are Racer, Ocean Hero Chronograph, Sea Hunter, Twinkle, Mountain Quest, Sea Quest, Adventurer, Sky Hero, Ocean Hero, Explorer and Challenger. These Swiss made watches are powered by quartz movements.
