Christopher Ward Rapide Collection – C7 Hornet COSC Limited Edition and C7 Rosso Corsa COSC Limited Edition

British luxury watch brand Christopher Ward presents two new limited edition chronometers from the motor sports inspired Rapide collection.

The C7 case is constructed from four individually engineered parts, each of which have been designed using techniques that are similar to how racing teams work to streamline their cars for optimum performance.

The case has then received a sandblasted diamond-like carbon (DLC) finish with a striking anodized orange aluminium case band. Visually stunning, this contrast emphasizes the hollowed shape of the case’s turned and milled lugs. Orange numerals applied to its aluminium bezel are also a legible and practical addition.

The C7 Hornet COSC Limited Edition’s matte black dial is complemented by alternating Arabic numerals which are raised and varnished in orange on their outside and filled with blue emission Super-LumiNova® within. The Christopher Ward twin flag device is also subtly applied in brushed gun metal.

Powered by a COSC version of the Sellita SW200, the C7 Hornet COSC Limited Edition (of which there will only be 150 pieces) has been tested in a range of positions and temperatures to gain the valued ‘chronometer’ certification.

C7 Rosso Corsa COSC Limited Edition
Limited to 200 pieces, the C7 Rosso Corsa COSC Limited Edition watch uses a shade of red that is evocative of the beautiful supercars produced throughout Italian motorsport history.

The C7 Rossa Corsa COSC Limited Edition’s double height numerals are polished around the outside and filled with Super-LumiNova® for improved legibility. Then, day and date wheels which are visible through a window at 3 o’clock, ensure this is a watch that is as functional as it is handsome.

The new timepiece also utilises the signature four-part case of the Rapide collection, which is finished in black DLC with a matte red aluminium outer band that highlights its intricate structure and construction. Scooped out lugs, individually milled on a five-point axis to achieve their hollowed, weight-effective shape, also seamlessly contour into the central band and backplate.

The C7 Rossa Corsa COSC Limited Edition is powered by an ETA 2836-2 COSC calibre that has been certified by the independent Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres.
