OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M New Edition – Celebrating 25th Anniversary of the Collection

The iconic Seamaster Professional Diver 300M collection is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018 and Omega revisits this popular diving watch line. Introduced in 1983, this legendary diving watch collection is also well known for its connection with James Bond movies.

OMEGA has carried out complete facelift of Seamaster Diver 300M  and updated this collection with 14 unique models, including 6 in stainless steel and 8 in a mix of stainless steel and gold. The new edition watch comes in a larger case measuring 42mm diameter and houses the Master Chronometer Calibre 8800.

The brand has carried  remarkable redesigning of the exteriors. For example, the iconic diving bezel is now made from ceramic with the diving scale in Ceragold™ or white enamel. The dials are also made from polished ceramic and are available in black, blue or PVD chrome colour.  Further, OMEGA has reintroduced the wavy pattern (now laser-engraved) that was a popular feature of the original design.

All indexes have been raised and filled with Super-LumiNova and, to keep track of the days, the date window has been moved to 6 o’clock. Even the skeleton hands (rhodium-plated, 18K gold, or blued) have been subtly reshaped.

For new models, the helium escape valve has been given a conical shape and has been patented by OMEGA with an ingenious technology that allows it to be operated underwater.

Turning the timepiece over , one can admire the METAS-approved mechanical movement through the sapphire crystal glass surrounded by a metal case back featuring wave-patterned edge.

Finally, each model is presented on a traditional iconic metal bracelet or an integrated black or blue rubber strap. The metal bracelets feature a new ergonomic design and have been closely integrated to the case. They also include OMEGA’s patented extendable foldover rack-and-pusher with a helpful diver extension.
