Frank Jutzi L’Art du Tourbillon

At Baselworld 2018, Switzerland based independent master watch maker Frank Jutzi presented a tourbillon wristwatch from his collection, along with other members of the prestigious AHCI.

Two decades ago Frank Jutzi exhibited his two-month going grandfather clock with a transparent movement at the Académie des Horlogers Créateurs Indépendents (AHCI) booth in BaselWorld 1998 fair, at that time he got the status of AHCI candidate. In 2000 he was accepted as a member of the Académie. His studio is located in rural Wichtrach in the neighborhood of Bern. His first tourbillon wristwatch was appeared in 2001 as Frank Jutzi participation to a “Seven Masters” project of Goldpfeil group, where seven selected members of the AHCI was involved, including Frank Jutzi.

His last creation – L’Art du Tourbillon, new series of automatic wristwatches in 18 carat gold or stainless steel, embodied with great respect to traditions of Swiss watchmaking art, but resolutely reflecting Frank Jutzi own style and approach to watchmaking. Classic design of case and movement is bestowed with spectacular multilevel dial and intrinsic Frank Jutzi polished and sculptured arrow Wichtrach plowshare style hands.

The origin of the particular shape of the hands is in ancient heraldic coat of arms of Wichtrach town – plowshare that is regarded not only as a rural symbol, but also as the emblem of nascent life reason. That’s why Frank Jutzi pays special attention to fine finishing of symbolic hands of L’Art du Tourbillon watch as well as of traditional steel tourbillon bridge set from the dial side of the watch.

The movement beats inside the watch is a Swiss made Concepto 8950-A automatic movement with customized rotor. The watch is available with blue or ruthenium-grey multilevel dial with matt on central zone or circular grained finish.

Blue or ruthenium-grey (depending on version) multilevel dial with matt on central zone or circular grained finish, riveted rounded flat top face baguette-shaped indexes, polished and sculptured arrow Wichtrach plowshare style hands.

Black alligator all square scales strap with tone-on-tone stitching and calf leather beige lining for gold version or black caoutchouc strap for stainless steel version.
Buckle: Frank Jutzi personalized gold or stainless steel clasp or deployante buckle (depending on version).
