Singapore based independent design studio Humism presents a kinetic art movement inspired wrist watch collection. With this watch collection, the young brand offers customers great relief from the influx of so called minimalistic watches in the micro-brand market.
The major design highlight of the watch is its kinetic art pattern dominated over the dial. Here the traditional hands are omitted and the kinetic effect is generated by the seconds discs moving over the minute and hour discs. Presently three kinetic art designs – EUDAIMONIA, GEIST & DASEIN – are available.
Crafted from 316L stainless steel in brushed finish, the watch case has proportions – 39mm diameter 11.4mm thickness- best suited for a classic dress watch. This minimalistic, almost geometric case features carefully balanced proportions, symmetrical bevels, and clean, angular forms. The watch case is fitted with sapphire crystal on both front and case back.
The watch is powered with Seiko NH35A self- winding mechanical movement with hand-winding and hacking capabilities. This 24 jewels movement beats at 21,600 vph and features kinetic art inspired custom rotor, which is visible through the transparent case back.
Each timepiece comes fitted with a vegetable tanned full-grain leather straps with quick release pins for easy removal. Milanese bracelet is also available. The Kinetic art watch comes with an 18 month warranty.
The brand has launched an online crowd funding campaign to raise funds for the initial mass production of the Kinetic art watch collection. Presently, the campaign is live (27Feb – 30 Mar 2018) and interested customers can back this project. Kickstarter price starts at USD 265. Delivery in Jul 2018. An amount equaling 5% of sale of each timepiece goes to charity.
