Co-founded by Vasilij Brandt and Pascar Sivam, the Danish watch brand Nordgreen launched their Kickstarter crowd funding campaign on January 3rd 2018. To realise this project, the duo has partnered with one of the leading Scandinavian designers, Jakob Wagner.
Featuring Scandinavian design, the debut watch collection offers three models- Philosopher, Infinity and Native – with versions available in 40, 36 or 32mm case sizes, different colour ways, type of case finishing and options for bracelet or strap.
Based in Denmark, Jakob Wagner is a leading designer who works for famous brands like Bang & Olufsen, Hay, Muuto, Stelton, Alessi and others. One of his creations, the fire fighter breathing apparatus is now a part of the permanent design collection at MoMA, New York.
Nordgreen stays true to authentic Danish design. Simply elegant, each timepiece from the collection comes dressed in ultra-thin stainless steel case featuring a clutter free dial with diamond cut hands and is secured with Italian leather strap with quick release function. Equipped with Japanese quartz movement, every timepiece is tested for a water resistance of up to 3 atm.
This watch project has been linked with a unique charity program. A Nordgreen owner can enter their watch’s serial number and identification number on their Giving Back Programme page, learn about the three causes that they contribute to, and then choose the cause that they believe in the most.
With Nordgreen, a watch can contribute to saving 200 ft² of rainforest in Latin America, provide one month of clean water to a person in the Central African Republic, or provide two months of education to a child in India. This is because they’ve partnered with some fantastic NGOs to help give back.
