Fears Watch Company expands their Redcliff watch family by adding a new member– the Fears Redcliff Continental.
Unveiled at the SalonQP watch exhibition in London on the 2 November 2017, the Redcliff Continental is inspired by the glamour of international travel in the 1960s, and features a special function that allows for two independent time zones to be displayed on its dial simultaneously. This allows the wearer to easily keep an eye on the time for business associates or loved ones across the globe, or to check the time back home when travelling abroad.
With Fears’ elegant approach to design, this second time zone is discreetly shown by a 24-hour time disc in a dedicated window at 6 o’clock, rather than the more usual additional fourth-hand method.
The oval shape of this time window is inspired by the oval country stickers attached to cars when driving abroad, a shape reminiscent of motoring holidays on the continent.
Utilising the same stylish 38mm stainless steel case as the Redcliff Date, The Redcliff Continental is instantly recognisable as a Fears watch with its distinctive ‘Fears’ hands and ‘Pipette’ hour markers.
The dial features a new two-tone finish with a stylised globe emblem picked out in the centre in a matte texture, contrasting with the high gloss of the dial’s surface.
The globe design, only noticeable in certain lights, pays tribute to the glamorous jet-set age of air travel.
