On 11th October 2017, Hublot unveiled in its Prague Boutique its new Friend of the Brand, the Czech tennis player and current World n°3 Karolína Plíšková.
It is in her homeland that Karolína Plíšková entered the Hublot Family as Friend of the Brand, more precisely in Prague, a city where she won one of her first singles titles back in 2015. Born in 1992 in Louny, a small town forty miles outside of Prague, Karolína Plíšková started playing tennis at the age of four with her twin sister. She turned professional in 2009 and won the Junior Australian Open in 2010.
Her aggressive style of play is highlighted by her forceful ground strokes as well as her powerful and accurate serve. Karolína Plíšková is now on track for a third straight year on top of the WTA’s ace leaderboard: she hit 517 aces in 2015, increasing that total up to 530 in 2016 and currently leads this year’s tally with 419 aces.
Winner of 9 singles titles and 5 double titles since 2013, Karolína Plíšková has pursued her rise in the WTA Rankings over the years, ending World n°11 in 2015 and World n°6 in 2016. In 2017, she won 3 singles titles (Brisbane, Doha and Eastbourne) and is now World n°3.
Karolína Plíšková has brilliantly qualified for the WTA Masters taking place in Singapore from 22nd to 29th of October. The Masters will gather the season’s 8 best players, among those being another Hublot Friend of the Brand, Simona Halep. Karolína Plíšková is also an accomplished woman as well as a generous and charitable individual. Last June, she launched the Karolína Plíšková Endowment Fund to help the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Department of Motol University Hospital in Prague. During the US Open this year, she relied on her great serve to launch the #AceQueen initiative to donate €200 to the Foundation for every ace she hit during the Tournament.
