Established since 2014 under the leadership of watch specialists Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, Camden Watch Company, the independent watch brand based in Britain, announces its very first automatic collection of watches.
Known for its Victorian Britain inspired classic quartz watches; the Camden Watch Company has just launched a Kickstarter online crowd funding campaign for the promotion of its debut automatic watch model: No.29.
The first Camden Watch Co. Automatic truly reflects the brand’s identity by bringing back to life Camden’s industrial and railway heritage.
Based upon the brand’s most popular style the No.29, a design is inspired by Victorian pocket watches worn by Camden train workers, the automatic’s design goes even further in creativity and complexity.
Its meticulously crafted dial takes the design inspiration from traction engines, a Victorian invention that revolutionised manual labour.
The numbers and surrounding frame are influenced by the front plate found on these engines, with the machined pattern in the centre of the dial drawn by all Victorian steam engines. The crown’s engraving, emblematic of this automatic masterpiece, depicts a section of a bridge that spans Regent’s Canal.
Equipped with a popular self winding movement manufactured by Miyota, this timepiece displays basic time and date. Featuring a custom engraved rotor, this movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Presented in Black, Steel and a Limited Edition Black and Rose Gold, The No.29 automatic is exclusively available through Kickstarter from the 10th October with prices starting from £245. Each timepiece carries a two year guarantee.
