Introduced in 2003, the CVDK Astrolabium watch from the Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Masterpieces collection draws its inspiration from the age-old astrolabes.
The Christiaan van der Klaauw Masterpiece Astrolabium watch not only displays the date, but also the mean local solar time, the time and the place where the Sun rises or sets, the position of the Sun and the Moon on the ecliptic, the position of the descending and ascending node of the lunar orbit (the dragon hand), and indicates both solar and lunar eclipse.
Made of rose gold, the 40mm diameter case houses the CVDK1198 automatic winding movement with an ingenious Astrolabium module.
The self-winding mechanism features a custom rotor based on the theme of the Astrolabium, in which the beautiful Azimuth lines are visible. The movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
The CVDK Masterpiece Astrolabium watch is available in two dial versions: Rose gold with black indexes and Silver coloured with black indexes. They come fitted with brown alligator leather straps.
