Perrelet’s Turbine collection welcomes two new timepieces, the ‘Turbine Macau’ and the ‘Turbine Monte Carlo’, both to be released in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
The Turbine, with its 12 anodized aluminum blades, features 5 tungsten counterweights enabling it to turn freely with a simple movement of the wrist. This is a highly complex technical element requiring intricate mastery of the assembly process so that all the components are perfectly balanced and operate optimally.
This technology is not limited to the three-hand models – it is also used for the chronograph and GMT functions and associated with the spectacular Turbillon (a cross between a Turbine and a tourbillon). One of the main characteristics of this technology is the way the turbine gives free rein to imagination and creativity, with the sub-dials able to take on different ‘faces’. The rotation of the turbine results in numerous combinations of colors and visuals, creating a series of polychromatic effects for the observer.

The Turbine Macau (ref. A1047/A) is available in a round 44 mm case in black PDV-treated steel, with a dial consisting of three parts: first, the black subdial screen-printed in the four suits of a deck of cards which appear as greyed-out wallpaper.
Each suit is then highlighted in black or red, alternating with the luminous Arabic numerals which indicate the time. Thus there is a red heart between 12 and 3, a club between 3 and 6, a diamond between 6 and 9 and finally a spade between 9 and 12. The beauty of the dial lies in the rotating 12 blades of the black turbine.
The third element of the dial is the flange from which the minutes can be read at 15-minute intervals (15, 30, 45 and 60) while the seconds are read from tiny red rectangles, apart from 60-second point, which is indicated by a green marker.

| Turbine Monte Carlo (A1051/A) |
The new Turbine Monte Carlo (A1051/A) – more generously sized compared to the Turbine Macau – boasts a 48 mm case, in PVD-treated black steel, featuring the fluting typical of the Turbine collection and an integrated crown at 3 o’clock.
Its particularly elaborately wrought dial includes a fourth element described below. When the wrist is turned, the black turbine reveals a red-and-black subdial, evocative of a roulette wheel. The red and black form a circular board whose segments are framed by a gold band.
The black areas bear the hour markers 3, 6, 9, and 12 while the red areas contain good luck symbols. There is, for example, the inevitable horseshoe, but also a dollar sign, the number 777, which represents the jackpot on a one-armed bandit, but which is also a favorite at Perrelet as the house was founded in 1777, and finally a four-leaf clover.
Above the turbine, the Arabic numerals on the flange indicate the minutes in 10-minute intervals. Meanwhile, the odd-number hours are marked in red: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11). Between the turbine and the dial is the fourth component: a sandblasted glass ring bearing the word ‘automatic’ and giving the ring greater depth. The warm rose gold hue of the white luminescent hands and the small central ring of the turbine serve to enhance the dial’s spectacular effect.
The Turbine Macau and the Turbine Monte Carlo are powered by the P-331 mechanical self-winding Manufacture caliber: with Turbine technology, 28,800 vph (4Hz), a 42-hour power reserve and water-resistant to 5 ATM. The exquisitely finished movement, its oscillating weight decorated with the brand logo, is visible through the transparent caseback.
Both watches are fitted with a rubber strap with folding buckle in PDV-treated black steel for the Macau model, and with black PVD-treated ardillon buckle for the Monte Carlo model.
