Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United Limited Edition

The Swiss luxury watchmaker under the LVMH conglomerate is now the official watch and the official timekeeper for this premier football club of Thailand and Asia, as well as the country’s one and only world-class motorsport race track.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United limited edition is introduced as the first collaboration watch with a football club in Southeast Asia.

A new chapter in the Thai football history was written on Tuesday 25 April 2017 at West Wing Room, Oriental Residence Bangkok Hotel, as a press conference was held to announce the Swiss luxury brand partnership between Buriram United Co., Ltd., Buriram United International Circuit Co., Ltd. and PMT The Hour Glass in the capacity as the retailer of Hublot watches in Thailand.

On this same occasion, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United watch was unveiled. The timepiece is produced as a limited edition of only 30 pieces.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United watch

Buriram United Club maintains the highest record with four Thai League title wins. It is the first and only club in Thailand to have won five championship titles in a single year. Chang International Circuit is Thailand’s only world-class motorsport race track with Grade 1 certification by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and Grade A certification by the FIM (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme).

Hublot is the only luxury Swiss watch brand to be official timekeeper of world-class events such as FIFA World CupTM, UEFA EuroTM and UEFA Champions League®.

This business partnership is marked by the Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United – a 45.0 mm watch in black ceramic. The chronograph is most notable for its 45-minute retrograde hand, designed specifically to time football matches. Its time-telling dial can be found at 6 o’clock. Navy blue, the color of the club, is used to execute the dial, while grey is used to fashion the chronograph buttons.

The tip of the chronograph second hand is designed after a thunderbolt, reflecting the intensity of Buriram United in their games. This thunderbolt is also observed on the club’s very own logo, which can be found on the dial and the caseback. All 30 units of this self-winding timepiece come with individual numbering and a navy blue rubber strap to match the dial. It is priced at 1,099,999 Baht each.

Consistent with Hublot’s vision and passion for football, this partnership is an important milestone in the history of watchmaking industry and Thai football circles. It is the first time a Thai football club is chosen as the one and only club in Southeast Asia to be collaborating with a luxury Swiss watch brand such as Hublot.

The collaboration watch, Hublot Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Buriram United limited edition, is a reminder of that unique relationship, and a driving force promoting the Thai football industry on a wider scale.

About Buriram United

Buriram United is created out of the union between two Buriram football teams: Buriram PEA (2011 Thai Premier League Championship title winner with highest, unbeatable score) and Buriram FC (2011 Division 1 Championship title winner and a great Buriram legend). It is Thailand’s first and only football team to have won five championship titles in a single season. Buriram United has won 22 championship titles during the past seven years.

The club is Thailand’s first to have a football stadium of its own with certification by FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and AFC (Asian Football Confederation). This stadium is recognized by Guinness World Records as the quickest FIFA-grade football stadium in the world, built in 256 days.
