Emerald Time by Harry Winston

The Emerald Time by Harry Winston is an exquisite high jewelry objet d’art. Crafted in white gold and adorned with shimmering aventurine and radiant diamonds, the Emerald Time by Harry Winston recalls the elegance of the Art Deco period when the House of Harry Winston was founded.

When Harry Winston founded his namesake business in 1932, the Art Deco movement was in full swing. New York City, with its majestic architecture, bright lights and lively culture was the epicenter of the Art Deco movement in America. Unlike other artistic movements, which were primarily seen only in museums, the Art Deco movement permeated all aspects of daily life, leaving its sleek, symmetrical imprint on everything from soaring skyscrapers to fashion and countless high jewelry creations.

The Emerald Time by Harry Winston is a precious, yet practical, object that bears all the signature codes of the House of Harry Winston and celebrates the streamlined design ethos of the Art Deco movement. Inspired by Mr. Winston’s favorite diamond cut, the emerald-cut, a series of overlapping octagonal shapes bring a dynamic, architectural feel to the clock. Adorned with precious blue aventurine, the color scheme of the Emerald Time by Harry Winston evokes the signature codes of the House. As the “King of Diamonds,” it is only natural that diamonds play a fundamental role in the embellishment of the Emerald Time by Harry Winston, which features a total of 223 brilliant-cut, 235 baguette-cut and one emerald-cut diamond.

Far from being a static object, the 18-karat white gold Emerald Time by Harry Winston is equipped with a pivoting mechanism, which allows it to show the time and date on one face, and a mirror on the other. Interrupting the formal geometry of the rich blue aventurine inlays, the diamond-set areas of the stand and frame are endowed with a gentle, feminine curvature.

The stand, which can be folded, provides a firm and stable footing for the pivoting clock and mirror. With the light of diamonds and dark blue aventurine, the Emerald Time by Harry Winston, even when closed, glows like a miniature skyscraper. Two faces for one clock Once again, the mastery of Harry Winston’s gem setters is on display, as the 50 brilliant cut and 151 baguette-cut diamonds framing the dial appear to overlap like ribbons – giving the piece rhythm and movement.

The aventurine dial with hours, minutes and a large date window is set with nine brilliant cut hour markers, two horizontally-set baguette diamonds at 3 and 9 o’clock and a signature Harry Winston emerald-cut diamond at 12 o’clock. And because it is a Harry Winston creation, where every last detail counts, even the flange of the clock is set with 164 brilliant-cut diamonds, so that every angle shines with an unparalleled brilliance. Like the dial, the mirror side of the clock features an octagonal frame set with baguette cut diamonds that contrasts with the shaper angles of the blue aventurine frame.

To set the time of the Swiss quartz-powered clock there is an octagonal-shaped crown with the HW logo on the side of the stand. The Emerald Time by Harry Winston is a very special objet d’art and serves as a constant reminder of the glamorous world of Harry Winston.
