Harry Winston Midnight Diamond Drops Automatic 29mm

An enchanting scene, a flurry of diamond snowflakes adorns the dial of the new Midnight Diamond Drops Automatic 29mm showcasing the gem-setting artistry and superlative design techniques associated with the House of Harry Winston. Presented for the first time in a 29mm case, the smallest timepiece in the Midnight Collection, this petite beauty beats with an automatic heart, promising for a lifetime of precision.

Having once owned an estimated one-third of the world’s most important historic diamonds and gemstones, it was Mr. Winston’s incomparable eye for beauty, quality and rarity that led him to the acquisition of the legendary 45.52-carat rare blue Hope diamond in 1949. A color that has long been at the heart of the brand, an intense midnight blue adorns the dial of the Midnight Diamond Drops Automatic 29mm.

Every creation from the House of Harry Winston bears the unmistakable mark of its founder, who had an innate ability to transform nature’s most precious gifts into objects of everlasting beauty. A keen observer of nature, Mr. Winston developed his signature design technique, clustering, after admiring the way snowflakes glistened on a holly wreath.

The scene set on the dial of the Midnight Diamond Drops Automatic 29mm is reminiscent of a cold winter’s night, with 102 brilliant-cut icy white diamond snowflakes falling gracefully to the ground. Featuring three different-sized diamonds, the wintry canvas comes to life, as the larger diamonds take center stage and the smaller ones gently fall in the distance.

Different from the life-like portrayal of snowfall, the rectangular indexes at 3 and 9o´clock – set with diamonds – impose a sense of order that is crowned with a spectacular emerald-cut diamond at 12 o’clock – a hallmark of the House inspired by Mr. Winston’s passion for emerald-cut stones. Another first for the Midnight Collection, the minute and hour hands showcase a new more tapered and feminine design.

Presented in a petite 29mm, the 18-karat white gold case is both simple and elegant, making it the ideal setting for this sparkling vision of nature. Once again, the signature codes of the brand are in place with 64 brilliant-cut diamonds expertly set on the bezel and lugs and the iconic Harry Winston arch replicated by the crown.

While the first Midnight Diamond Drop timepiece was presented in a 39mm case with a quartz movement in 2014, the latest iteration is the smallest in the Midnight family and the first 29mm timepiece to be fitted with a mechanical automatic movement. Equipped with the latest technology, a flat silicon balance spring, this timepiece also features a 22-karat rose gold rotor and beautiful hand finishes on the movement, including circular Côtes de Genève, rhodium plating and circular graining that can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback.

The Midnight Diamond Drops Automatic 29mm echoes the intense blue color of the dial with a seamless blue alligator strap, fitted with a classic white gold ardillon buckle.
