The Classico Paul David Nardin timepiece pays homage to Ulysse Nardin’s rich past.
Since 1846, when naval commanders and merchant captains the world over came looking for Ulysse Nardin’s marine and pocket chronometers, the company has been building on his winning approach of timekeeping innovation and precision. Every decade since then has seen its share of prize-winning innovative timepieces come out of the manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland. These mechanical timepieces provide a perpetual source of inspiration, both for collectors who appreciate their eternal beauty and continued performance, and for the watchmakers at the Swiss manufacture. Today, the release of the Classico Paul David Nardin timepiece celebrates this illustrious history with resolutely modern aplomb.
Named after Ulysse Nardin’s son Paul David, who took control of the company after his death in 1876, this new creation takes inspiration from a 1945 timepiece.
Its elegant styling marks it instantly as belonging to the Classic Collection, with a few differences, like the vintage inspired silverized dial with Arabic indexes. The classic Le Locle manufacture logo is engraved on the case-back. Housed in a 39 mm steel case, complemented by a beautiful calf brown leather strap, the self-winding UN-320 manufacture movement drives the circular small seconds indicator and round date window at 6 o’clock.
