British luxury watch brand Christopher Ward expands their iconic Grand Malvern collection with the new C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour. The remarkable watch combines an elegant design with great technical achievement, revealing the time via a sweeping minute hand and an accompanying aperture at 12 o’clock which displays the hour.
Sophisticated, minimalistic and refined, the C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour is Senior Designer Adrian Buchmann’s update on the C9 of the same name, which incorporates the distinctive new case design DNA and smooth light catcher lines that the brand is becoming known for. The signature case, 40.5mm 316L polished surgical-grade stainless steel with brushed sides, captures and enhances light to give the appearance of a slimmer profile and a clean aesthetic that allows it to sit gracefully on the wrist.
Alongside this, a curved double-top sapphire crystal, domed opalin dial and domed indexes showcase the style and quality of this new piece, while the single blued hands’ curve follows the shape of the dial effortlessly.
Underneath its stylish exterior lies the astonishing technical achievement of the bespoke Calibre JJ01 movement. A modification of the Sellita SW 200-1, Calibre JJ01 provides a 38 hour power reserve and has been designed and assembled at Christopher Ward’s Swiss atelier in Biel.
Developed by Christopher Ward’s Technical Director Johannes Jahnke, this mechanism is the most accurate jumping hour complication that has ever been produced by Christopher Ward.
The new C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour is available with an Italian Shell Cordovan strap with Bader deployment or a ‘Milanese’ mesh bracelet. Priced at £1,175, this timepiece is available to purchase from 13th April 2017, exclusively from christopher ward website
