Perrelet Weekend Collection
At Basel 2017 Watch Fair, Perrelet unveiled the all-new WEEKEND collection of watches featuring a classic, timeless design with a touch of retro yet contemporary style that will satisfy watch-lovers in search of elegant and refined timepieces.
In tribute to the master watchmaker who founded the brand in 1777, Abraham Louis Perrelet, the WEEKEND collection has a mechanical automatic winding movement offering 72-hour power reserve.
The addition of an oscillating weight to the movement created the DNA of Perrelet, its distinguishing feature. The other interpretations of this technological development, the Double Rotor and the Turbine, are two iconic models by Perrelet, made right in the heart of the Swiss manufacture.
There are three different lines in the WEEKEND collection: 3 hands, Open Heart and GMT. All three models come in a steel or PVD 4N stainless steel case, endowing them with the typical reflection of rose gold. The dimensions are ideal (a 39 mm in diameter and 9.56 mm thickness), making WEEKEND the perfect size for a classical casual or smart model, for daily wear or special occasions alike.
The dial is equipped with anti-reflective treated sapphire glass, with a rigorously researched design, in different colours: classic silver and white but also black and charcoal-grey for certain versions. The hands are the same colour as the case, except on the WEEKEND 3 hands, whose numbers and hands are blue on a white face.
The WEEKEND Open Heart model brings special emphasis on watchmaking technology, enabling micromechanics lovers to admire the heart of this piece, as the regulating organ is visible thanks to an opening at 6 o’clock.
The dial of the WEEKEND GMT is sober and pure in its aesthetics, making it easier to read the GMT 24-hour function thanks to the central blue hand, on which a triangular tip shows the second time zone all around the outside of the dial.
The automatic calibres of the 3 hands, Open Heart and GMT models in the WEEKEND collection are P-321-2-H, P-391-2-H and P-401-2-H respectively, providing a power reserve of three days and 5 ATM water resistance. The transparent case back means you can admire the movement and the new oscillating weight.
There are numerous finishes for the oscillating weight and decoration, with vertical stripes in the middle, conjuring up the effect of sunrays. The Perrelet logo, laser engraved in the middle of the half-moon on the weight, brings up the P logo among horizontal stripes.
The leather strap with an alligator finish, black or brown, has a personalised pin buckle with the Perrelet logo, whose finish matches the cases of the WEEKEND collection. All the steel versions in the three collections are also available with a stainless steel bracelet.
