Bering Automatic Vitus 1728

Together with Japanese watch movement manufacture Miyota, Danish watch brand BERING developed a new automatic movement for the new Automatic Collection Vitus 1728.

In 1728, the Danish explorer and pioneer Vitus Bering sailed into almost unspoiled regions on his way to the Arctic Ocean. During his travels he traversed a strait that was later named after him: the Bering Strait. Vitus Bering was the first European to discover Alaska where one of the four time zones bears his famous name.

The Automatic series ‘Vitus 1728’ is named after the adventurer Vitus Bering whose pioneering spirit was a source of inspiration for the new models.

Exclusively for this collection, BERING, in collaboration with Miyota, developed the precision movement VITUS 1728 which is reliably and continually wound through its wearer’s movements. Once manually wound, the mechanism runs more than 40 hours when in passive state.

Besides its fully automatic technology, the new watches impress with the classically minimalist BERING design, the plain dial, as well as the 24-hour display and date display.

Fitted with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, supply milanese strap or soft leather straps, the watch offers not only sophisticated design but also outstanding wearing comfort and the utmost in quality. The watches are waterproof to 3 ATM. The watch’s glass base makes for a special eye-catcher exposing the exquisite details of the watch mechanism.

The six models are available from April at authorized specialist stores and at Bering online store and cost 299 Euros and 339 Euros.
