Toric, the signature haute horlogerie collection from Parmigiani Fleurier welcomes a new addition – the Toric Chronometer – to its line. Toric was the first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani. Symbolising both innovation and culture, Toric boasts an elegant case inspired by the columns of Ancient Greece, with this aesthetic taken up by the gadroons and knurling. Unveiled at SIHH 2017, the Toric Chronometer combines the line’s aesthetic features inspired by historical monuments and manufacture’s quest for accuracy.
As evidenced by the certification number engraved on the PF331 proprietary calibre, assembled with components of the highest quality, each Toric Chronometer is unique and meets the most stringent standards for accuracy and reliability.
To ensure perfect harmony of substance and form, Parmigiani Fleurier opted for a case structure which frames the wrist. The case, made from white gold or red gold, has been redesigned. The curved contours inject certain dynamism into the design.
The ends of the strap and its attachment have been redesigned to reflect this, and the lugs given a more functional, ergonomic makeover. The crown has also been made a more imposing feature. While retaining the signature codes of the collection, the aesthetic of the Toric Chronometer is understated, its appearance streamlined. The cards have been elegantly reshuffled.
This elegance can be seen in the dial, available in black opaline or a delicate white grained version. This hand-crafted finish consists of creating a unique textured background by brushing the surface of the dial with a mixture of salt and silver powder. It is brought to life by two long Javelin hands, a date, a very subtle minute track around the circumference, and Arabic numerals with proportions which emphasise this elegance. This piece comes with a black Alligator strap.
