DeWitt pays tribute to its founder’s origins by adorning the Lady Pressy watch with an exceptional dial of imperial inspiration. The dial’s skeletonised structure in gold brings to mind a honeycomb pattern, alternately set with diamonds and cognac-coloured garnets.
Bees – the imperial emblem par excellence – formed the inspiration behind the new Lady Pressy design, anchoring it even more firmly in the Maison’s history. DeWitt’s founder, Jérôme de Witt, is a direct descendant of the Emperor Napoleon I. Beyond this obvious connection, the two worlds share the values of precision, hard work and the passing on of wisdom – values that are particularly important at DeWitt.
Knowledge passed down over the years, the precision of tasks meticulously performed and orchestrated, and finally the intensive work that breathes life into their creations –these are common denominators that link true watchmaking artisans to honey-makers, toiling in their hives.
Painstaking care has gone into the design, manufacture and hand assembly of the new Lady Pressy’s dial, executed by the Manufacture’s master dial-makers at Meyrin in Geneva.
The watch’s undeniable subtleness is also a result of its alternating lines: a round case set with a row of round diamonds, daring strap attachments that give the model its unique character, and geometric lines in a honeycomb pattern on the dial.
The Lady Pressy’s 18-carat rose gold case stands out with its two geometric ornaments, shaped like stylised crowns, at 6 and 12 o’clock. The Lady Pressy watch houses a self-winding calibre with a power reserve of 42 hours, indicating the hours and the minutes.
