With a young, contemporary and trendy feel, the Academia Stainless Steel Grande Date watch updates the DeWitt DNA with an avant-garde “sporty chic” design. Featuring the famous DeWitt imperial column motif and with the exclusive notched bezel of the Academia, the Grande Date model enters 2017 with a revisited dial and a palette of new shades. The dials are increasingly being pared back to target a young, dynamic clientèle with a passion for watches.
Crafted in the Manufacture by DeWitt’s own dial-makers, its rosette motif is the framework for an alternating pattern of sunray decorations, half-moons in beige mother-of-pearl, and rose gold-coloured appliqué Arabic and Roman numerals.
Each dial is crafted by hand in the dial-making workshops at DeWitt’s Manufacture. The contemporary style of its round 43 mm case sculpted with DeWitt’s traditional 24 imperial columns contrasts elegantly with the consummate refinement of the dial. The collection is fitted with an automatic movement offering a 42-hour power reserve, and features an aperture at 12 o’clock where the date can be read.
Each Academia Grande Date model meets the very highest standards of finish adopted by the DeWitt Manufacture, with satin-finished, polished, and chamfered surfaces. This high-quality workmanship can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back, also revealing a delicate DeWitt rotor.
The watches are presented with an alligator strap and a folding clasp that bears the “W” signature, which also features on the crown.
The new Academia Stainless Steel Grande Date can be purchased from 6,000 Swiss Francs.
