To mark its twentieth anniversary, the Parmigiani Fleurier manufacture is presenting a limited edition of 10 pieces christened Kalpa XL Hebdomadaire Anniversaire. This limited edition follows the unique piece bearing the same name which had inaugurated their exceptional defining feature: a solid gold movement within a steel case middle.
The Kalpa XL Hebdomadaire model is an iconic model on several counts. Parmigiani Fleurier’s first wristwatch, its “tonneau” shape was designed in 1997 by Michel Parmigiani who began by imagining the profile of its case middle, before conceiving its surface. This founding design gave rise to the brand’s stylistic codes which now form its visual identity.
Created in the image of the case which envelops it, the movement of the hand-wound KalpaXL Hebdomadaire remains one of Parmigiani Fleurier’s flagship calibres thanks to its exemplary design. This double-barrel movement ensures an 8-day power reserve and features a patented display system.
The ten movements of the Kalpa XL Hebdomadaire Anniversaire Limited Edition are made of rose gold, thus distinguishing them from the unique piece’s yellow gold movement. Each bridge of this precious movement was engraved with a pattern in acanthus leaves, forming a stunning network of meticulous strokes. A back dial featuring18-ct rose gold appliqués hides the movement from front side.
