VAPAUS – Veli 1950 & Veli 2050: Swiss Made, Mechanical Hand Wound Timepiece Collection Inspired from 1950s

The Swiss Made luxury watch brand VAPAUS unveils Veli 1950 and Veli 2050: two minimalistic hand wound mechanical timepieces inspired by the designs of 1950s wrist watches.

Influenced by Bauhaus design principles, these strikingly beautiful wrist watches feature high-domed sapphire crystals, wire lugs, textured yet minimal dials, and beautifully engineered Swiss Sellita SW215-1 hand-wound movements.

The elegant dress watches feature a 38mm case, a choice of either syringe (Veli 2050) or alpha (Veli 1950) hands and will be offered in ice silver, space black, deep blue or slate grey.

Measuring 38mm diameter, the stainless steel case of VAPAUS watch is fitted with a high-arched sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the front side. Working in tandem with the sunburst dial of the watch, the show-stopping high-arched sapphire refracts light beautifully. The crystal, at its apex, stands 2.80mm above the case, curving smoothly across its surface.

Designed in a beautiful sunburst pattern, dial comes in Deep Blue, Ice Silver, Space Black or Slate Grey colour themes. In sympathy with the domed crystal, the dial itself is slightly convex. Gently curved hands maintain a parallel with the convex dial. In addition, the VAPAUS Veli watch is offered with a choice of either classic alpha hands (Veli 1950), or signature syringe hands (Veli 2050).

Inside beats a slim, high precision Swiss made mechanical calibre, the hand-wound Sellita SW215-1 movement with a bespoke colour-matched date wheel.

The Veli wristwatch collection is now available to pre-order on Kickstarter with prices from £499 / $670 USD / €599 EUR. To celebrate the launch of VAPAUS, the Veli is being offered in exclusive numbered 1st Editions (in addition to the standard Launch Edition). Ten individually numbered 1st editions will be built for each of the eight models, making eighty 1st Edition Velis in total.

Each timepiece from 1st Edition comes with:

  • Authenticity card including serial number, hand-signed by both VAPAUS founders
  • 1st Edition artwork engraved on case
  • Individual numbering engraved onto the case back
  • 1st Editions will be sold on a strictly first-come-first sold basis, with the engraved numbering reflecting the order in which they are purchased.
