This classically interpreted sports watch takes inspiration from the Maori mythological stories. According to the centuries old Maori Māori Religion and Mythology, Tamanuitera is the name of sun god. This special edition wrist watch from New Zealand based watch brand MAGRETTE depicts the story of Māui and Tamanuitera with its exterior engravings.
The fully engraved stainless steel case features eight 1.5mm black diamonds on the sides of the case and 18 carat rose gold wire inlays. The gold inlays are mechanically held in place by cutting a channel in the metal, creating a dovetail at the bottom of the cavity and hammering the gold into place. The hammering action spreads the gold into the dovetail which holds it in position.
Measuring 42mm in diameter, the case is fitted with Screw down crown, double domed sapphire crystal front glass with AR coating and sapphire crystal see-through case back with DLC with anti finger-print coating. Tested for a water resistance up to 200 meters, the Magrette Leoncino Tamanuitera is exceptionally suited for scuba diving activities and ocean adventures.
This timepiece houses the Miyota 9015 self winding movement with engraved rotor. Produced in a limited edition of 10 pieces, the Magrette Leoncino Tamanuitera retails at $5200.00 USD.
