Straton Watch Company Curve-Chrono
After its first and highly successful Kickstarter campaign in 2015 to fund the Vintage Driver Chrono timepiece, Straton Watch Company presents its newest collection of watches inspired from the automotive world.
The Curve-Chrono collection pays tribute to the historic racing period of the 1970’s as well as paying homage to the chronograph watches of this era.
The Curve-Chrono watch comes in 5 different variations; A to E. Included with each purchase of a watch is its standard strap as well as a choice of two out of seven different racing inspired striped straps.
Available in two sizes – 42mm and 39.5mm – the case of Curve-Chrono watch is made of 316L stainless steel and comes in polished and brushed finish. Version E black is DLC coated.
The Curve-Chrono watch is also available in two editions based on the movement in use. First is Automatic, which is limited to 110 pieces and second is meca-quartz, unlimited edition. The meca-quartz hybrid model houses the Seiko VK64 calibre and automatic version is equipped with Seiko NE88 calibre.
Inspired by the dashing boards of vintage racing cars and available in different colour variations, the dial of Curve-Chrono watch boasts numerous indications dear to enthusiasts of racing inspired wristwatches.
In automatic version, the inner dial boasts 30 minute chronograph counter at 9’o clock, small seconds counter at 3’o clock, central chronograph seconds hand, hour and minute indexes, date window at 6’o clock and central hour/minute hands.
The timepiece also features an inner bezel for second time zone and tachymeter scale between inner bezel and centre dial. This model is also available without date window.
In meca-quartz version, the dial features a chronograph 24 hour counter at 3’o clock, small seconds counter at 9’oclock, central chronograph seconds hand, hour and minute indexes, date window at 6’o clock and central hour/minute hands.
The meca-quartz timepiece also features an inner bezel for second time zone and tachymeter scale between inner bezel and centre dial.
For the lovers of automotive inspired accessories, Straton Watch Company has also expanded its line of products to include driving gloves. Straton driving gloves are available in seven different colors, five men’s sizes and three women’s sizes. These classic driving gloves are crafted from genuine leather with vivid attention to detail has been taken into account in their design right down to the breathing holes that allow for maximum comfort and grip.
To promote the new Curve-Chrono watches and Driving Gloves, the brand has just launched a Kickstarter online crowd funding campaign. Watches can be custom pre-ordered along with leather gloves from 15th April lasting 35 days.
The meca quartz version of Curve-Chrono will have a pre-order price on Kickstarter starting from around $279. The Automatic movement limited 110 piece edition of the Curve-Chrono will start from around $679 on Kickstarter. The driving gloves will have a pre-order price of around $89 a pair on Kickstarter.
