Glycine Combat Sub “Aquarius”

Traditional Swiss watchmaker Glycine is introducing the AQUARIUS to the market, having developed this diver’s watch to meet the highest professional standards and the most exacting aesthetic demands.

Co-designed by Swiss professional diver Remo Laeng, the AQUARIUS has successfully passed the test on dives down to a depth of 500 metres. The highly functional and aesthetically perfect case boasts a screw-down relief valve on the left-hand side, and its crowning glory is an absolutely scratch-proof rotating bezel made of high-tech ceramic.

A sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides and clever magnifying effect provides the best possible clarity of display, allowing the professional diver to see the dive time easily, even at great depths. The product is finished by a beautifully integrated rubber strap which combines maximum comfort with practicality and aesthetics.

The Aquarius is fitted with a helium escape valve which allows helium to escape from inside the watch when it is worn by divers in pressure chambers. Breathing gases in diving bells can contain helium with atoms so small that they can find their way inside a watch. When the diver surfaces, the pressure difference between these trapped gases and the external environment could damage the watch. The helium escape valve prevents this from happening.

The GL224 automatic Swiss precision movement ticks away inside the AQUARIUS. The elegant timepiece is on sale at a recommended retail price of 1,990.00 euro.
